Another corner of Boosaba's garden. In this image there are: a young papaya tree with ผักตำลึง (Coccinia indica, "ivy gourd") growing up its trunk, and a mango tree nearly smothered by a ผักสาบ (Adinia viridiflora craib, no English name but it is classified as a Passifloraceae, hence a cousin of the passionfruit vine). Under the mango tree are a cassia tree, ต้นขี้เหล็ก (Cassia siamea or Senna siamea, "Kassod Tree"), and turmeric. In the background are jackfruit and banana trees. It's worth mentioning that we eat not only the banana fruits, but also the banana flowers and tree trunks, and we use the leaves for wrapping many steamed foods. Down the bank toward the river is our stand of giant bamboo whose shoots are delicious and whose timber fills many needs around our home and farm.
